DeviceLock - Hardware and Software Requirements

This document provides minimum hardware and software requirements for installing and operating the Oloid DeviceLock application.

Introduction

Oloid DeviceLock is an Android application designed to secure mobile workforce operations through seamless identity-based authentication. It enables employees to log in to HRMS systems, and lock or unlock their device screens using a variety of physical identity factors such as Face, Badge, PIN, NFC tags, Passwords, and QR codes.

Incompatibility Warnings

Oloid DeviceLock may not function properly on devices with the following limitations:

  • Devices running Android OS below version 9

  • Devices without a functional camera, NFC module, or Bluetooth

  • Devices with heavily modified OEM firmware or lacking regular security updates

  • Android Go edition devices with limited processing power or memory

  • Devices without Google Mobile Services (unless sideloaded and managed via MDM)

Connectivity Requirements

  • Internet Access: Required during app registration, updates, and for syncing logs or HRMS transactions.

  • MDM Support: Recommended for app deployment for enterprises, policy enforcement, and updates.

    Note: On Samsung devices, Knox can be used to enable and manage kiosk mode.
