How to Unlock the Device Screen Using the Oloid DeviceLock App with NFC Tag Credential

Introduction

The Oloid DeviceLock app enables users to securely unlock their Android devices using NFC Tag credential. After successful authentication, the device unlocks and redirects to the device home screen.

Prerequisites

  • Android device must be connected to an external NFC reader/card reader.

    Note: If the Android device has a built-in NFC reader, you can scan the tag directly on the device.

  • You must have your assigned NFC ID.

Steps to Unlock the Device

  1. Press the Power button or tap the screen on your device.

    Note: The Device Lock app is displayed automatically, as it always runs in Kiosk Mode.

    The Welcome screen is displayed.

  2. Tap Login with NFC Tag.

    Note: You will only see the authentication methods (Face, PIN, QR Code, Password and NFC) enabled for you. Button names may vary based on configuration. Contact Support if no authentication method appears.

    Tap NFC Tag at the device page is displayed.

  3. Scan the NFC Tag.

    After successful authentication, the device unlocks and displays the home screen.
