Introduction
The Windows Authenticator App provides secure, passwordless access to your Windows machine, making it easy to log in without the need for traditional passwords.
Prerequisites
You have access to the Windows installer file provided by Oloid Support.
You have local administrator access on the Windows machine.
Steps to Download Windows Authenticator App
Contact Oloid support for Windows Installer File.
Steps to Install Windows Login App
Right-click and select Extract All > Oloid Passwordless Login Setup.zip file.
Note: The extracted files will be saved in the same folder as the original zipped file.
Double-click on Oloid Passwordless Login file.
The Oloid Passwordless Login Setup pop-up box is displayed.
Click Start.
The End-User License Agreement page is displayed.
Select License Agreement checkbox and click Next.
The Destination Folder screen is displayed.
Use the default path to install the application and click Next.
The Capabilities pop-up box is displayed.
Select the required featured check box(es) and click Next.
The Ready to Install screen is displayed.
Click Install.
The Microsoft Visual C++ screen is displayed.
Select License terms and conditions checkbox and click Install.
The Setup Successful screen is displayed.
Click Close.
The Microsoft ASP.Net screen is displayed.
Select License terms and conditions checkbox and click Install.
The Setup Successful screen is displayed.
Click Close.
The Windows Desktop Runtime screen is displayed.
Click Install.
The Installation was successful screen is displayed.
Click Close.
The Completing the Oloid Passwordless Login Setup Wizard screen is displayed.
Click Finish.
The Oloid Passwordless Login pop-up box is displayed.
Click Yes to restart the system.
Note: You must restart your system after successful installation.
After successful installation, you can find the Oloid app icon
on your desktop. Note: The Apache CouchDB is installed on the system by default.
Steps to Auto-pair the Windows Authenticator App
On the Windows lock screen, do the following:
Click Sign-in options.
The Windows login app is displayed.
Select Windows login app.
Select Login with OLOID.
The Windows Login app is displayed.
Select Yes, pair my device to auto-pair the device.
The Windows machine has been successfully paired and is now ready for use.
OR
After installing the Windows Authenticator app, unlock your Windows machine using a credential other than the Oloid login method.
On the desktop, double-click on the Windows Authenticator App
icon to start.The Welcome screen is displayed. You can see the "Auto-pair config found!" message.
Note: The auto-pair config file is present in your installer file (Installer path\OloidV2\Oloid\config). Reach out to Oloid Support if you do not see auto-pair option.
You can also manually pair your supervisor app incase auto pair fails.
Select Yes, Pair my device to auto-pair the device.
The Windows machine is paired successfully.
