Introduction
Reauthenticating the current user second factor in Epic Hyperspace adds an extra layer of security during an active session. This method requires the logged-in user to verify their identity again using a configured secondary credential, such as a PIN.
Prerequisites
You must have access to Epic Hyperspace.
Epic Vault Password must be created for the user.
Note: Vault Password is required for Username/ Password flow. For more information, refer: Chrome Vault - How to create Vault Password for a user
Badge must be assigned to the user.
Steps to Reauthenticate current user in Epic Hyperspace
Launch the Epic Hyperspace application on your Windows Machine.
The Scan Badge screen is displayed.
Tap the Badge on the Badge Reader to scan it.
Note: You will only see the authentication methods (Face, Badge and NFC/ID) enabled for you. Button names may vary based on configuration. Contact Support if no authentication method appears.
The Login confirmation screen is displayed. Click Continue.
The Epic Hyperspace Home page is displayed
On the top menu panel of the homepage, click Reauthentication Test View.
The Reauthentication Test view page is displayed.
Click Reauthenticate Current User - Second Factor.
The Enter PIN screen is displayed.
Note: Authentication is based on the factor configured in Reauthenticate Current User (Second Factor) under the reauthentication workflow. Contact Support if no authentication method appears.
The current user must enter the PIN.
Note: The current user (the user already logged into Epic Hyperspace) must authenticate.
The current user is successfully reauthenticated.
